SEABORNtee
SEABORN is a fun summer tee with an all over stripe pattern and a decorative shell pattern
at the edge of the body and the sleeves. To ensure a perfect fit for everybody this pattern
includes many bust and sleeve circumferences that can be chosen independently. On top
there are instructions on how to alter the length of the body and the sleeves. So your
SEABORN can either be a cropped top with short sleeves or a dress with long sleeves. You
could even make matching tops for you and your child.
To make the pattern this flexible it is necessary that the knitter does a little calculation -
but don't worry, it is nothing that you need to think about or figure out yourself. The
pattern tells you very clearly which numbers you need to enter into your calculator.
SEABORN is worked seamlessly from the bottom up and the shoulders are closed with a
Three Needle Bind-Off. It is made from a cotton, viscose and linen blend yarn that is
perfect for summer and has a lovely drape to it. This material is a little heavier than it
would be if a woolen yarn of the same yarn weight was used instead. This weight causes
the fabric to drape in a way that creates the illusion of waistshaping even though the top is
knitted straight from the bottom up.
